PDX

The airport this morning was absolutely chaotic. I figured that 4:45am at Portland International Airport was a pretty slow hour...TOTALLY wrong. It was pretty much spring break central. But I got to skip most of the lines for check in (which was a good 45min to hour long) and security so that was good :) Although me and mom did see a girl in hysterics because she was going to miss her flight to her sister's wedding. There was a guy being a real jerk to her in line and wasn't going to let the agents take her to the front. I saw him again by where the bags get checked and I gave him the stink eye. Yeah...he deserved it. You don't want to be on the receiving end of the Liz stink eye.

Well my flight should leave any minute. I'm just kinda hanging out at the gate. It's going to suck having to recheck in at Chicago, but at least my baggage should make it. I have a 5 hour wait anyways, might as well do something :)

I'm really going!!!

Leavin on a Jet Plane

6:30am tomorrow I'm heading to Vienna!! I'll be sure to start taking pictures the moment I step off the plane! Miss you all!!

< 2 weeks!!!!1!!!

less than 2 weeks!! woooo! I've got my maps. I've got my plane tickets. I've got my hostel booked. This is actually going to happen!!

woefully unprepared

I feel woefully unprepared to go to Vienna. At least german-speaking-proficiency-wise. I went down to a cafe to practice what little I could remember with some friends (who both knew a hell of a lot more than I did) which made me discouraged. I'm just afraid that when I get to Vienna I will test into the lowest class level. And I'm afraid that if that happens then I won't get credit when I come back to UW. So until I leave for Vienna, I'm going to try and learn a chapter each night. Maybe in a few weeks I won't make quite a fool of myself :)

On that note, I can't wait to be 8 time zones away!!! ...but then again I have a pretty compelling reason to want to stay here. He's pretty cute.
